Obituary

GLENS FALLS – Dolores S. Chevalier, 62, peacefully passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, surrounded by her brothers and sister at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York. She was lovingly reunited with her precious husband, John, after a brave and arduous journey with cancer. Dolores was born August 12, 1951 in Plattsburg, NY and was the daughter of Solange and Lawrence Bergeron. She was happily married to her soul-mate John Chevalier for 35 years before his untimely passing. Dolores spent her professional life using her gift of compassion and helping others. She was a long time substance abuse counselor and retired from the Hale Creek Correctional Facility in Johnstown, NY. Dolores was a reassured daughter, sister, aunt and friend whose contagious laughter and love of all life imbued any she touched. She was a gentle soul that could always find the best qualities a person possessed and guide them to their full expression. Easy to talk to and fun to be with she had an active life full of friends. She loved to travel and explore the world, drink fine wine, and had an adventurous palate. Her most favorite moments were spending time with her Husband, her animal "kids" and large family. She was a doting daughter and took exceptional care of her adored parents. She was the great organizer and loved hosting family events. Spending time in her garden and walking her dog was summer time and simplicity at its best. Dolores was predeceased by her husband, John Chevalier. She is survived by her parents, Solange and Lawrence Bergeron, her devoted sister Gail Infante, her brothers and sisters-in-law; Norman and Marion, David and Cheryl, Steve and Sandy, Tom and Brenda and Kerry Bergeron, her nieces and nephews; Kirsten Drino, Joel Infante, Nicole and Alex Donnell, Nancy and Donald Miller and Natalie Reppert, and by her great nieces and nephews; Olivia and Logan Drino, Sebastian and Daphne Infante, Solange and Aveline Donnell and Antaeus Reppert. There will be a viewing from 11 to 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St. Queensbury, NY. Her family will also host a gathering for friends and family immediately following the service. Om Mani Padme Hum. Rest in Peace and may God bless you, our sweet angel Dolores.
