Queensbury---Donald R. Long, 52, of Michigan Ave., Queensbury, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 6, 2013.
Born May 30, 1960 in Plattsburgh, he was the son of Pauline Palmer.
Donnie attended Queensbury High School and later received his G.E.D. Most recently Donnie worked for Ames Goldsmith in Glens Falls.
In his spare time, Donnie liked to go fishing, listen to music, make people laugh, and root for his favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed attending concerts and other sporting events, especially NASCAR races in New Hampshire, watching his favorite racer, Jeff Gordon. Above all, he loved spending time with friends and family.
Don was predeceased by a brother, Ronald D. Long, and a nephew.
In addition to his mother, Pauline Palmer of Queensbury, survivors include his children, Star D. Long and U. S. Army Specialist Joshua M. Long, both of Queensbury, and Donnie "DJ" J. Long and Ciera K. Long, both of Glens Falls; a sister, Katrina M. Connelly of Ohio; brothers, Lawrence "Larry" W. Long Jr. of Virginia, and Jonathon Long, formerly of West Glens Falls; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Friends may call upon the family Saturday, April 13, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
