QUEENSBURY – Donna (Hance) Benson, 49, of Queensbury, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital with her loving family and dear friends by her side.
Born December 27, 1965 in Bethpage, Long Island, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Margaret (Scuderi) Hance.
Donna obtained her GED at B.O.C.E.S and went on to get her Associates Degree in Office Technology and became a nurse's aide for Wesley Health Care Center and Hallmark, now known as The Stanton. For the past 18 years he was known as "Operator Donna" at Glens Falls Hospital where she was loved by everyone.
Donna enjoyed many things including crocheting, painting, crafts, and fishing. Above all, the thing she loved the most was spending time with her grandkids. They were the best of friends. Recently, she and her grandson, Scott, went on Lake George Steamboat cruise and she had just finished crocheting a blanket for him.
Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her two brothers, Louis and Charles Hance.
Left to cherish her memory are her longtime companion, Lawrence "Jug" Lemery; two sons, Scott (Jennifer) Benson Jr. and Dusty (Rachel) Benson; two step-children, Michael (Nikki) Lemery and Tina Lemery; one grandson, Scott Benson III; six step-grandchildren, Sophia, Nathan, Julia and Ryder Lemery, Emily and Morgan Catalfamo, Tyler Blake, and A.J. and Emery Carl; two sisters, Margaret Hance and Ginny Sharer; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will take place Friday, July 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
At request of the family there will be no funeral service.

The family wishes to send special thanks to Dr. Grubbs, for all her kindness; the Glens Falls Oncology staff; Belinda Ellis and Vivian Lazure, for a lifetime of friendship; and to her niece, Shaynan, for all her love and care, and also to everyone who was there for Donna, helped take care of her, and came to visit.
