QUEENSBURY --- Doris Keeling, 89, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022.

Born November 11, 1932, in Union, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Mae (Stephan) Brauner.

After graduation from high school Doris worked for IBM and Bell Labs in New York City as a secretary. She married William "Bill" Ruppel on April 21, 1951 and raised their two children Kurt and Kathryn Ruppel. The family lived in Point Pleasant, NJ and Fort Lauderdale, FL until 1967, when they moved briefly to Tupper Lake, NY and then Eldred, NY.

Doris helped Bill in his role as General Manager of a trout farm, restaurant, and motel resort (Eldred Preserve) and marina in Walker's Cay, Bahamas. Bill passed away after a long illness in January, 1995. Doris married James Keeling in 2001 and they spent summers at a lakeside cottage in Bethel, NY; winters along the Intracoastal Waterway in Boynton Beach, FL. They enjoyed playing golf with their friends and living by the water.

Doris is survived by her sister Jane Brennan of Milford, PA; son Kurt (Donna) Ruppel of Argyle, NY; daughter Kathryn Ruppel of White Lake, NY; grandchildren Jesse Ruppel of Easton, NY, Lisa Martinez of Chicago, IL, Alix Shepard of Malta, NY and Sara Manning of Monticello, NY; and great grandchildren Richard, Izabella, and Adelise.
