WARRENSBURG --- On July 6, 2014, Doris P. Olden went into the arms of the Lord and Savior at her daughter, Deborah Keith's home, after a long journey with Alzheimer's. Doris' faith that she would meet her husband in Heaven never wavered.
Born Feb. 27, 1932 in Warrensburg, Doris was the daughter of the late Rufus and Eva (Kenyon) Baker.
She was predeceased her parents, her husband Frank Olden, a daughter Jodi Shannon Olden, her son Ricky Olden, and her siblings George and Claude Baker and Martha Beadnell.
On Feb. 25, 1951, she married Frank B. Olden. Frank went into the arms of the Lord on June 30, 1988 after 37 years together.
Doris was employed by The Toy Works, Inc. for many years as a turner and inspector, retiring in Feb. 2010.
Doris had seven children and is survived by Larry Olden and wife, Wendy, of Warrensburg, Deborah Keith and husband, Henry, of Warrensburg, Gina Wolfe and husband, David, of North Creek, Cheryl Ryder and husband, Glen, of Warrensburg, Todd Olden and wife, Flo, of Warrensburg, and daughter-in-law, Carrie Olden of Warrensburg; one sister, Maude Ostrander of South Glens Falls. Doris was the grandmother of 21 and great grandmother of 39 and also had several nieces and nephews.
Doris was a wonderful mother, full of life and love. She had a great love of God and stayed strong to the very end. She leaves her family with many memories and she will live on in our hearts forever. She will be greatly missed by many.
Thank you to all who supported our mother, physically and spiritually. Special thanks to Tricia and Dana and the family members that were a comfort and a great help. Thank you to High Peaks Hospice, and their nurses, Carol, Tabitha, and Beth. Chaplain Steve Smith and Diane Lytz and Carol the social worker. Thanks to her Doctor George Siniapkin. All of whom contributed to Mom's final days on earth, making it as peaceful as possible. A Big Thanks to ALL.
At Doris' request, there will be no calling hours.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
