QUEENSBURY --- Doris Marie Sherman, 95, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Born December 21, 1929 in Glens Falls, New York, she was the daughter of the late Emanuel and Gladys (Duell) Maille.
Doris married the love of her life, Clyde Sherman from Lebanon, New Hampshire and was happily married to him for many years, Clyde unfortunately passed on December 3, 2006.
Doris worked for Queensbury School District for many years in food service.
She loved to mow her lawn and snow blow her driveway. Doris also loved birds; she would even make homemade birdhouses for them. In her free time, she enjoyed to crochet, garden, and spend time with her family.
Doris was a member of the Church of the Messiah Episcopal and she attended West Glens Falls Community Church with her daughter, Linda.
In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was predeceased by her daughter, Diane M. Coffey; grandchildren, Timothy Sherman, Misty Fuller, and Lauren E. Potter; siblings, Sandra Beatie, Earl Maille, William "Tinker" Maille, and Edward Maille; and son-in-law, William S. Skellie, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda Skellie, Jeffery Sherman, his wife, Sheryl, Clyde N. Sherman, his wife, Sherrie, and Gail Chadwick, her husband, Leonard; grandchildren, David Potter (Megan), Scotty Potter (Ruthie), Diana Schwab (Burt), Sandra Dickinson (Keith), Desireé Lamay (David), Ken St. John, Kayla Green (Eric) and Jesse Sherman; great-grandchildren, Cari, Jessica, Sara, Anthony, Dylan, Bianca, and Tyler; 15 great-great-grandchildren, special love sent to Doriana and Ethan for all the time they spent with their great-great-grandma; brother, Harvey "Pete" Maille (Barbara); several nephews, nieces and special thank you to Megan Morris for all of her the compassion and love she showed Doris and continues to show our family.
Friends and family are invited to call from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2025, at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with the Pastor Annette Vredenburg officiating. A graveside ceremony will follow at Pine View Cemetery, Quaker Road, Queensbury, NY.
