UPDATED FUNERAL NOTICE - A graveside service for Dorothee Colotti will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Bay Street Cemetery in Glens Falls.

GLENS FALLS --- Dorothee Jeanne Colotti, 91, passed away peacefully, on December 31, 2016, after a long illness.

Born on July 11, 1925 in Rutland, VT she was the daughter of John J. and Mary M. (Patnod) LaFera .

In addition to her parents, Dorothee was predeceased by her son, Joseph L. Colotti; two brothers, Robert J. LaFera and Angelo LaFera; sister, Anne Colli; sister-in-law, Ruth (Bickers) LaFera; two nephews, Robert LaFera and Alfred LaFera.

Dorothee graduated Glens Falls High School in 1943.  She later worked as a secretary at Family Services in Glens Falls and retired as a secretary at Native Textiles in 1990.

Dorothee enjoyed bowling, sewing, reading, playing cards, crossword and word search puzzles and watching baseball and basketball on TV.   She was also an avid John Wayne fan.

She cherished the many pets that she had throughout her life; including her Pomeranians – "Coke" and "Pepsi", a poodle she called "Pepe" and many feline companions that were known only as "Babe".

Dorothee was a "regular" at Steve's Place where she made many new friends over conversation, coffee and a blueberry muffin.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Thomas J. LaFera of Bentonville, AR; sister-in-law, Ruth (Rainville) LaFera of Glens Falls; several nieces and nephews include Suzanne LaFera, Lisa LaFera, Angela LaFera, Gloria Councellor, Theresa DeProspo, Matthew LaFera, Thomas LaFera, John LaFera and Thomas Colli.

Calling hours will take place from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Thursday, January 5 at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A funeral service will follow at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Manerowski officiating.

Interment will take place after the funeral at Bay Street Cemetery, Glens Falls.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the third floor staff at The Pines for the care and compassion given to Dorothee; especially Todd, who never let her miss an opportunity to join in a game of cards.  Also a special thanks to Brandon Ryther, whom she referred to as "my boyfriend", for his kindness and thoughtfulness.
