Obituary

QUEENSBURY--- Dorothy "Dottie" A. Skellie-Beaudet, 70, of Queensbury, passed away peacefully Monday, July 8, 2013 at Fort Hudson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Edward.
Born May 25, 1943 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Louise (Flewelling) Baltazar.
Dottie graduated from Queensbury Union Free School, Class of 1961.
On June 29, 2003, she married Clay Beaudet at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake George. Most recently, she attended the Community Chapel of West Glens Falls.
For over thirty-five years, she enjoyed working as a waitress at Prospect Diner in Lake George. She also liked to host cookouts on her deck and holiday dinners, as well as traveling, gambling, and reading magazines.
Dottie was a member of Queensbury V.F.W. Auxiliary Post No. 6196, Lake George American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 374, and Queensbury B.P.O.E. Post No. 81.
In addition to her parents, Dottie was predeceased by her former husband, Ernest S. Skellie.
Survivors include her husband, Clay Beaudet of Queensbury; two sons, Tracy Skellie of Manchester, N.H., and Bernie Skellie (Maxine DeSourdy) of South Glens Falls; step-children, Angela (Gary) Vernum of Lake George, Clay Beaudet of Kingsport, Tenn., Mark Beaudet of Lake George, and Theodore Beaudet of Thurman; several step-grandchildren; her foster sister, Delores "Dee" Anderson of Queensbury and Toni Allen of Glens Falls; foster brother, Keith (Jesse) Morgan of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Linda Potter, Clerk of Session of West Glens Falls Community Chapel, officiating. The Queensbury V.F.W. Auxiliary and Lake George American Legion Auxiliary will also perform ceremonies during the service. Please come prepared with your precious memories of Dottie, to share during the service.
Burial will take place at a later date at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
A gathering to celebrate her life will take place after the memorial service at Lake George American Legion, 3932 Route 9L.
Donations may be made, in loving memory of Dottie, to Lake George Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 267, Lake George, NY 12845.
