HUDSON FALLS – Dorothy "Dot" J. Cronin, 93, passed away April 29, 2013, at Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury, where she had been a resident since 2008.
Born February 20, 1920 in Utica, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Fries) Jewett.
Dot and her family moved to Saratoga Springs when she was a child, where she graduated from high school in 1937 and went on to graduate from Mildred Elley Business School.
She later became an insurance agent and worked for most of her career in the Queensbury area.
Dot married Thomas E. Cronin on February 26, 1955 and lived in Hudson Falls, where she resided for over 50 years. Tom passed away on September 21, 1968. After his passing, Dot devoted herself to her three young sons ensuring that they had a childhood full of wonderful memories.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother and his wife, Charles "Cup" and Nancy Jewett of Saratoga Springs.
Survivors include her sons, Robert and his partner, Sharon Smith, of Troy,
Daniel and his partner, Pam Green, of Gansevoort, Mark and his wife, Amy, of Queensbury; her daughter-in-law, Donna Cronin; three grandchildren, Josh and his wife, Jolene, and their children, Olivia and Alex, Eric and his fiancée, Jenna Ross, and their children, Landian and Colton, and Kayla and her partner, Dan Nierenberg; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
At Dot's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
