YORKTOWN, V.A. --- Doug Goodspeed, 73, of Yorktown, V.A., passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019, with his loved ones by his side.

Born June 25, 1945 in Moriah, N.Y., he was the son of Walter F. and Muriel F. (Kilburn) Goodspeed.

Doug graduated from Moriah High School.

On August 27, 1977, he married the love of his life, Kathy Warren.

A longtime resident of the Glens Falls/Lake George area, he worked at Finch Pruyn Paper Company for 30 years until his retirement.in 2000.

Some of Doug's enjoyments included gardening, watching baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox, traveling and walking the beach with his loving wife of 42 years.

Doug was a member of Water's Edge Church in Yorkton, V.A.

In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Miles; and a brother, Harold Kilburn.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Kathy; children, David Goodspeed and his special friend, Kimmie Hartwell of Gansevoort, Heath Goodspeed and his wife, Krissy of South Glens Falls, Scott Goodspeed of Norfolk, V.A, and Aaron Goodspeed and his wife, Vicki of South Glens Falls; grandchildren, Elizabeth Barlow, and Emma Goodspeed; a great-grandchild, Juliet Barlow; his brother, Francis (Socko) Goodspeed; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Per the family's request, there will be no calling hours or services.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the kind, compassionate staff in the Neurological ICU at Albany Medical Center.
