FORT EDWARD --- Douglas A. Russell, 55, passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017 peacefully at Glens Falls Hospital after a long battle with lung and heart disease.

Born Sept. 3, 1962 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Floyd and Gloria (Harris) Russell.

Doug attended Queensbury School.

Some of his enjoyments included fishing, hunting, camping, and watching the Giants. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially taking family summer vacations to Maine, and deep sea fishing there.

In addition to his parents, Douglas was predeceased by his brothers, Floyd Russell Jr., and Matthew Russell; his nephew, Mark Russell; and a brother-in-law, Orbin Harrington.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Melanie Russell; his children, Joshua (Shawna) Russell, Brandon Baldwin, Jade Russell, and Jenna (Amanda) Russell; 6 grandchildren, Mattea, Dylan, Schyler, Kenadie, Elyse, and Kaeleigh; his siblings, Debbie Harrington and Mark (Melody) Russell; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and his beloved dog, Bella, and his cat, Hanna.

Calling hours will take place Thursday, Nov. 30, from noon to 1 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804. Please dress casually.

A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Mead, Pastor of Gospel Lighthouse Church officiating.

Interment will follow at Pine View Cemetery.
