Obituary

GLENS FALLS -- Earle "Wayne" Perrigo, of Glens Falls, NY, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Fort Hudson Nursing Home.

Born on December 28, 1934 in Lewiston, Maine to Earle, Sr. and Irene (Faulkner) Perrigo.

He spent his early childhood growing up near Bridgeport, Connecticut. After finding the truth, he spent his later teenage years living and pioneering with his mother in Athol, NY.

In 1960, Wayne met and married his lovely wife, Elizabeth (Beth) L. Montgomery from Granville, NY through their association with Jehovah's Witnesses. Together 57 years, their early married life was spent traveling across the country and experiencing the sights that many will only see secondhand. An avid photographer, Wayne enjoyed chronicling his life. It was all about the pictures and home movies. This passion erupted with the birth of his 2 beloved children Jonathan, born in 1971, and Jennifer, born in 1974, who spent many countless hours humoring him for photo shoots, videos and script reads.

Wayne loved and was extremely educated about world history. He expressed this passion through scale modeling. He had an extensive, hand-built assortment of planes, trains and automobiles. He was very proud of his collection and eager to give a history lesson about any of his pieces. He also enjoyed classic movies, never missing a John Wayne flick.

Wayne can best be remembered by his goofy, humorous personality. He had a special way of bringing a smile to someone's face. He loved his collection of distinctive hats and rarely left the house without wearing one, unless forbidden by his wife. The British bobby hat was one of his favorites.

Wayne spent much of his retirement in Florida enjoying the company of his two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Nathaniel Perrigo whom he adored. In addition to his wife, two children and two grandchildren, he is survived by a half-sister, Pamela, half-brother Jeffrey, and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earle Sr. and Irene.

Wayne is a member of the Glens Falls Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. A memorial service will be held at the Glens Falls Kingdom Hall, 81 Mohican St., Glens Falls, NY at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Memorial donations can be made to the Glens Falls Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
