Obituary

SOUTH GLENS FALLS---Edith Augusta Stutzbach Clauss Naylor, 85, of Riverview St., South Glens Falls, passed away peacefully on her own terms on Friday, September 22, 2017.

Born February 1, 1932, in Brooklyn, she was the middle daughter of Charles H. and Mildred M. (Weber) Stutzbach.

Edith graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens and earned her LPN degree from Wyckoff Heights Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn. She took pleasure in her nursing career and truly enjoyed working part time at Joy's Toy Store for a few years until the store's closing.

On November 7, 1953, Edith married William Theodore Clauss. They spent 8½ years together until his death July 30, 1962. Edith married William Sherrill Naylor July 4, 1966. Mr. Naylor died January 24, 1969.

Edith loved crafts of all kinds, especially knitting, and making Christmas stockings and afghans for her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to both husbands, Edith was predeceased by her mother, Mildred M. Stutzbach; father, Charles H. Stutzbach on October 18, 1969; a sister, Mildred C. Seyffarth (Edwin); and a nephew, James Seyffarth

Survivors include children, Paul W. Clauss (Loraine) of Waco, TX, Diane C. Izzo (John) of South Glens Falls, Claire F. Clauss (Manolo) of Queensbury, Charles G. Naylor of South Glens Falls, William N. Naylor (Tracey) of Queensbury, and one foster son, Richard Stockwell of South Glens Falls; 16 grandchildren, William J. Clauss II, Jennifer, Rob, Timothy, and Scott Clauss, Aleya and Richard Leombruno, Charles, Stephanie, and Toni Lynn Naylor, William S. Naylor II, Caitlyn, and Terrence Naylor, and Mary, Justin, and Emily Stockwell; 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Ann Knoeller (Arthur); one niece, four nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

At Edith's request, there will be no viewing.

Friends and family are invited to attend visitation Friday, Sept. 29, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery in South Glens Falls.
