QUEENSBURY --- Eileen S. Barber, 86, passed away following a brief illness on Sunday, September 21, 2025, with loved ones by her side.
Born May 11, 1939, in Schuylerville, she was the daughter of Dennis and Melvina (DeGrechie) Sullivan.
Eileen graduated from Schuylerville High School in 1956 and later graduated from Albany Business College in 1958. She worked for the New York Conservation Department from 1958 to 1961.
She married Carl L. Barber on May 29, 1960, in Schuylerville. She was a devoted stay-at-home mother to her 6 children.
Eileen loved camping, traveling, and taking trips to the ocean with her beloved husband and children. She absolutely adored spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved going to the family camp with her extended family. She also enjoyed gardening and volunteering for the church.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was predeceased by her son, Kyle Barber; and sister, Patricia Eisele.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Carl L. Barber; children, David Barber of Virginia, Kevin and Linda Barber of Texas, Chris Barber of New York, Tammy and Charles Albrecht of Queensbury, Tracy and Simon Buck of Texas, and Lynn Barber of North Carolina; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Bungard and Dorothy Becker; and cousins, Mary Jennings, Lois Skelly, and Maureen Duval.
Visitation will take place Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation with the Rev. Joseph Busch officiating.
A graveside ceremony will follow at Pine View Cemetery.
