QUEENSBURY, NY—Eleanor O'Sullivan Staib passed away peacefully, on Friday, January 27, 2017, at her daughter's home in Queensbury, NY.
She was born July 9, 1918, in Scotch Plains, N.J., to Florance and Katherine O'Driscoll O'Sullivan, who had come to America from County Cork on the West Coast of Ireland.

At 92, Eleanor was named Lord & Taylor Employee of the Month.
She enjoyed her family and friends, sunny days at the Jersey shore, social gatherings and celebrations, rooting for the Rutgers women's basketball team, and her interests in reading, knitting, sewing, and gardening. She was known for her brilliant, whole-hearted smile and the sunny, easygoing personality that made her deeply loved by her family and kept her close to her many friends for life.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband; her son, John H. Staib Jr; her brother, John O'Sullivan, and her sister-in-law, Frances Murphy O'Sullivan.
She is survived by her children: Barbara Staib Melville of Queensbury; Nancy Staib Berning of New Hartford, Conn.; and Lester Staib of East Windsor, N.J.
