QUEENSBURY --- Elizabeth "Billie" Swan, age 100, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 at home.

Born in Glens Falls on July 13, 1917, she was the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (O'Connor) Mannis.

She graduated from Saint Mary's Academy and Katherine Gibb's School in New York City.

Billie married Robert G. Swan on April 10, 1939 at St. Mary's Church in Glens Falls. He passed away on April 18, 1990 after 51 years of marriage.

She was an active volunteer worker for many organizations and held several offices. She was also a contributor to many local non-profit organizations. She was an avid bowler, golfer and bridge player, as well as a regular at all her grandchildren's sporting events.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Swan, her brother, Frank Mannis, her half-brother, Malcolm Mannis, and her grandson, Mathew Mellon.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Swan and his wife, Donna; her daughter, Joan Swan of Vermont and another daughter, Sandra Vernesoni and her husband, William, from Connecticut; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three half-brothers; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will take place Friday, November 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church on Warren St. in Glens Falls, with the Rev. Thomas Morette officiating

Friends are invited to join the family for a gathering to celebrate Billie's life following her services.

A graveside service will take place at a later date.
