QUEENSBURY --- Evelyn "Evie" Josephine (Bannon) Philo, 89, passed away on May 19, 2025. She was born on February 1, 1936, in Glens Falls, NY to William and Isabelle (Goldsmid) Bannon.
Evie went to Glens Falls High School. Soon after graduating Evie worked for Grand Union as a clerk for 41 ½ years and took pride in her work. She married Earl Thomas "Tom" Philo on February 2, 1964. They celebrated 49 years together until Tom passed July 16, 2013.
Evie was an active member of the St. Mary's Church of Glens Falls. Evie loved her family, friends, and especially her dogs of which she had many. Her big heart always made everyone feel comfortable and loved. Her house and pool were open to visits from everyone. She loved to entertain. Evie was known for her elaborate and abundant meals.
Evie was predeceased by her parents; brothers Ronald, Donald, and Edward.
She is survived by her sister, Carol Stockman; two nephews, Timothy Stockman and Donald Bannon Jr.; four nieces, Amy Jobe, Susan Stockman, Stephanie Bannon, and Isabel Natividad. She is also survived by her second nephews, Ross Stockman, Bengt and Nils Jobe, Caleb Laabs, Jacob Bannon, and Solomon Bannon Arviso; second nieces, Xenia Wieland, Angelina Colton, Josslyn Bannon, Charly, Harper and Rori Natividad, Renee Pfistner, Rebecca and Stephanie Vasquez; third niece, Elliana Iezzi; and third nephews, Zachary and Lucas Pfistner. Her beloved dog, Snoopy, will miss her.
Friends may call upon the family on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 9 to 10:30 am at St. Mary's Church, Warren St, Glens Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am at the church.
Burial service will immediately follow at Pine View Cemetery, Quaker Road, Queensbury, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Tom.
The family invites friends back to Evelyn's residence for lunch at 6 Brookwood Dr, Queensbury.
