Obituary

GLENS FALLS — Evelyn Osterhout, 83, went into the arms of her Lord on Oct. 28, 2017, after spending several days with her family by her side at Glens Falls Hospital.

She died of complications of diabetes and COPD.

She was born on June 7, 1934, in Worcester, N.Y.

Evelyn was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She and her late husband, Al, were longtime residents of Charleston Four Corners, N.Y., and later moved to Glens Falls.

Evelyn taught Sunday School for many years at the church in Charleston Four Corners.

She enjoyed going out to dinner with her family, as well as playing cards with "the ladies" at Stichman Towers, where she resided for seven years.

In recent years, she found enjoyment in watching John Wayne movies on Sundays. But every day of the week, she was an avid reader of The Post-Star and on the rare occasions when it didn't arrive, she would call her daughter and son-in-law to see if they had gotten their paper.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Condon, and her son-in-law, Bob Condon, of Queensbury; her grandson, Jeremiah Condon, and his wife, Sara, and great-granddaughter, Makenna, of Hudson Falls.

The family wants to thank Visiting Nurses Home Care, and the staff at Glens Falls Hospital and Hudson Headwaters Health Network for the good care they gave her.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Condolences may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
