GLENS FALLS --- Fay (Durham) Kaufman, 79, passed away after a long illness on December 1, 2017 at the Glens Falls Center, formerly The Stanton, into the arms of her loving husband.

Born on November 14, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Mildred (Maranville) Durham, Sr.

Fay graduated from Queensbury High School in 1956 and worked many jobs in this area and Champlain, N.Y., before moving to Florida. She and her husband owned and operated Kaufman Trucking of DeLeon Springs, Florida for 25 years, and in 2006 moved back to Glens Falls to be with her daughter Carol and family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Maurice S. Kaufman who died in 1995; her son, William D. Wilson; three sisters, Linda Robinson, Penny LaPell, Mildred Baker; and a brother, PFC Willard D. Durham Jr.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Prater-Chacon of Florida, Carol (James) Morrison of Glens Falls, and Theresa Apostle of Florida; one son, Daniel Wilson of Oklahoma; three step-daughters, Julie Hinckley, Susan (Richard) Welch, and Bette Kaufman, all of Champlain, N.Y; two sisters, Diane (Dennis) Scally of Hudson Falls and Joan (Bernard) Hammond of Rochester; one brother, Robert (Ellen) Durham of California; also several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life to be held at her daughter's home on January 13, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Her family wishes to thank the physicians at Hudson Headwaters Health Network and all the wonderful, patient, and caring staff at the Glens Falls Center who helped her in the many years there.

She was a member of the Adirondack Riders of Glens Falls and was impressed by how much this family oriented club did to raise money for local disabled children. She has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Adirondack Riders of Glens Falls, P.O. Box 491, Glens Falls, NY 12801, to go towards helping another child.

Condolences may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
