Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Floyd G. Batease, 93, passed away following a brief illness, on Friday, April 19, 2024, with his loved ones by his side.

Born June 11, 1930, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Darrell Robert and Hazel (Bradway) Batease.

Floyd graduated from Glens Falls High School. He owned and operated Batease's Block Company in Chestertown and worked as an EMT in Chestertown and Queensbury Bay Ridge for 30 years. He also worked at Hiland Golf Course following his retirement from General Electric.

He married Margaret Lanfear on November 11, 1951, in Hudson Falls.

Floyd served in the Naval Reserve and was a proud member of the Elks Club.

Some of his enjoyments in life were motorcycling, stock cars, racing, hunting, golfing, and he had a talent to fix just about anything. He and Margaret enjoyed their trip to Hawaii and their cruise to Bermuda to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and best friends. He also enjoyed the years they spent being snowbirds in Palmetto, FL. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Floyd was predeceased by his brother, Robert Stan Batease.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Colleen (Jack) Davis, Debbie (Willie) St Amour, Janet (Alan) Kinderman, and Glenn (Kyle) Batease; grandchildren, Cassie Shea, Jackson Davis, Ian Lewis, Heather Taylor, Jason, Brandon and Andrea Kinderman, Brooke Rouse, and Brady Batease; and 7 great grandchildren; also, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will take place Wednesday, May 1 at 3 pm at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, with the Rev. Ali Trowbridge officiating.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Haynes House of Hope in Granville, and Tower 2 at Glens Falls Hospital.
