Frank Waldron
Brown
Jan 24, 1941 — Nov 4, 2026
GLENS FALLS - Frank Waldren Brown, 85, passed away at home in Glens Falls, New York, on November 4, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 24, 1941, in Glens Falls, New York, Frank Waldren Brown spent his life rooted in the community where he was born and where he later passed away. He was a quiet, reserved, and loving man whose presence was known best by those closest to him and by the steady way he lived his life.
Frank worked for the City of Glens Falls Department of Public Works for more than 20 years. He remained dedicated to his work until his retirement at age 65. His years with the DPW reflected a long commitment to the city he called home. Outside of work, Frank was known for the interests he pursued with enthusiasm and care. He loved his 1970 Pontiac GTO, a car he drove and displayed at several car shows, where he won numerous trophies. That vehicle was a special source of pride and enjoyment for him, and it became one of the many ways others came to know him.
Frank also loved metal detecting and spent many hours searching for and collecting items of interest. Over the years, he accumulated numerous finds, including many rings that he returned to their owners when he was able. He also kept a large collection of discoveries, including arrowheads, musket balls, and rare coins. This pastime brought together his patience, curiosity, and appreciation for the past in a way that was distinctly his own.
Family was an important part of Frank’s life. He shared 60 years of marriage with his wife, Carol “Cora” Brown. He is also remembered by his daughter, Susan Brown (Jim); his grandson, Cody Brown; his favorite niece and caregiver, Barbie Weaver; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Brown and Susie Waldron; his sister, Alice O’Sick; and his brother, George Brown Jr.
Frank Waldren Brown will be remembered for a life lived with quiet devotion, enduring interests, and deep ties to Glens Falls. His memory will remain with those who knew and loved him.
A graveside ceremony will be held on November 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Bay Street Cemetery, Glens Falls.
Condolences and floral arrangements may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
