UPDATED GRAVESIDE NOTICE:

BOLTON LANDING --- A graveside ceremony with military honors for Frank A. Haux III, who died Jan. 31, 2018, will take place Saturday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at Church of St. Sacrement in Bolton Landing.

A celebration of his life will continue after the service at Bolton Landing Community Center on Edgecomb Pond Rd.

BOLTON LANDING --- Frank A. Haux III, 88, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 with loved ones by his side.

Born December 2, 1929 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Frank A. Haux II and Bertha (Mitchell) Haux.

Frank attended Roger Ludlowe High School before enlisting in the United States Navy in April of 1947. While enlisted he completed his high school requirements prior to graduating Radarmen school in July 1948 at the United States Navy Service School, US Naval Receiving Station in Boston, MA. He served on the USS Timbalier before being honorably discharged in May of 1950.

After his service in the United States Navy Frank worked as a patrolman for the Norwalk (Connecticut) Police Department for three years before working at Connecticut Light and Power for over 35 years until his retirement.

On August 8, 1950 in Bolton Landing at Church of Saint Sacrement, he married the love of his life, Mary Bet Roberts. They spent 63 wonderful years together.

He always enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping and more than anything he just loved being outdoors in all seasons. He had a special passion for fishing in Long Island Sound and Lake George. He enjoyed his hunting trips with his many close friends, his buddies from CL&P, and as a guest at the S&L Hunting Club in Stony Creek.

Frank was a member of many different organizations. At one time he was the president of Newtown Fish and Game Club in Connecticut, and past president of I.B.E.W Local 753. He was also a member of the Connecticut Saltwater Sports Association and the Connecticut Fish and Game Advisory Panel.

In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his wife, Mary Bet Haux.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Shirl (Tom) Doherty of Northville, Patti Haux of Bolton Landing, and Franz (Lisa) Haux of Queensbury; grandchildren, Patrick (Stephanie) Doherty, Lauren (Jason) Roberts, Erich, Kevin, and Haley Haux; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Sawyer, and Quinn Doherty, and Dane and Mackenzie Roberts; brothers, Richard Haux of Fairfield, Connecticut, and George Haux of Skaneateles, also several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will take place Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A memorial service be held on Sunday, May 27 th , at Church of St. Sacrement in Bolton Landing, correct time still to be announced.

Interment will follow at the Columbarium Wall at Church of St. Sacrement.

A celebration of Franks life for family and friends will take place at the Bolton Community Center following the service and internment.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Brian Smead and Gwen Dickinson of Hudson Headwaters. They also want to thank the girls at the Landing for the care they provided. And a very special thank you to Lincoln, Jen, Trudy, Heather and all at The Pines in Glens Falls for the wonderful care that they provided to Frank during his stay there. Special thanks also to High Peaks Hospice for their compassion & care.
