QUEENSBURY --- Frank "Jack" Lockhart, 84, of Lockhart Mt. Rd., Queensbury, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at his home with his wife and loving family by his side.
Born August 29, 1929, in Lake George, he was the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Cooper) Lockhart.
Jack worked at Howard LaRose Construction and was the owner of Highlander Cottages. For many years he worked for the Town of Lake George, from which he retired.
On June 16, 1948, Jack married his high school sweetheart, Jessie Mame Clarke.
In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by a son, Bobby, an infant son, "David", his brothers, Bobby and Howard Lockhart, a sister, Freda Lockhart, and a son-in-law, Phillip Johnson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jessie "Peachie" Lockhart; six daughters, Jacquline Bovair, and husband, Peter, Brenda Vogt and husband, David, Sue-Lynn Johnson, Schelly Shaughnessy and husband, Frank, Jamie Beecher and husband, Randy, and Jennifer Clark and husband, Joel; 15 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Lockhart and wife, Beverly; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Jack was an honorary member of Lake George American Legion Post No.374.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, January 7, from 10 a.m. to noon at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Lake George with the Rev. Julie McPartlin officiating.
Burial will take place in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery, Lake George.
