Obituary

QUEESNBURY – Fred Henry Loheide, 81, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015 at The Glen at Hiland Meadows with his loving family by his side.

Born April 22, 1934 in Brooklyn, he was the son of Fred and Hannah (Hissenkemper) Loheide.

Fred worked at IBM in Kingston, N.Y. after gaining his degree in Electrical Engineering.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, gardening, and just being outside.

On May 8, 1954 he married Maryann Baumann. In 1953 Fred joined the US Navy and served on the USS Robert K. Huntington DD-781 Navy Ship during the Korean War until he was honorably discharged in 1957. Fred was also very proud for serving in the Saratoga National Cemetery Honor Guard for 10 years.

Along with his parents, Fred was predeceased by his twin sister, Dottie Lloyd of Florida.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, MaryAnn Loheide; his children, Karen (Jeffrey) of Berne, N.Y., Eric (Laura) of Shokan, N.Y., and Leif (Eileen) of Perkasie, PA; 9 grandchildren, Marion 22, Lillian 20, Anna 18, Emeila 16, Joshua 15, Raegan 16, Ellery 14, Keirsten 15, Leif 12; and his beloved Yorkie, Dolly.

The family wishes to send special thanks to Wayne for the exceptional care and companionship he showed to Fred.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.

Burial, with military honors, will take place at Gerald B. H. Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
