Obituary

GLENS FALLS -- Freda M. LaBarge-Vaughn-Shaw, 79, gained her angel wings, Sunday, August 23, 2014 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Freda was born in South Glens Falls on May 21, 1936 to her parents Ralph H. and Mary (Reynolds) Palmer.

She attended South Glens Falls High School and spent her time as a Home Health Care Giver.

Freda spent her time enjoying BINGO, Casinos, traveling, scenic rides, cards, and crocheting. She valued her time as a volunteer and helping others, as well as, loved cooking and adoring large gatherings with family and friends.

She was a member of Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), Double H Hole in the Woods, and the local VFW.

Freda is predeceased by her three husbands, Robert LaBarge, Donald Vaughn, and Donald Shaw; her sister Myrtle Keeler; her three brothers, Clayton Chadwick, Vernon Palmer, and Donald Palmer.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Marchelle LaBarge (Walter), Gordon LaBarge (Jamie), Zoe Bruce (Tim), Robby LaBarge, Denise Rivers, Nichola LaBarge, Keith LaBarge, Mary (Wayne) Barker, Ralph (Laurie) LaBarge; 28 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Geraldine Ball, Elizabeth Harvey, Dorothy Van Guilder, Estella LaBarge, and Pauline Palmer; three brothers, Paul Palmer, Ralph Palmer, and David Palmer; one aunt, Arlene Palmer; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will take place Friday, August 28 from 11 to 12 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A memorial service will immediately follow 12 noon at the funeral home.

A Potluck family gathering will take place at Mary and Wayne's home, following the services, at 59 Cooper St., Glens Falls. Please feel free to bring a dish to share.


Burial will take place at Southside Cemetery, South Glens Falls, at the convenience of the family.
