QUEENSBURY – Frederick William Holden, 90, of Queensbury, passed away Jan. 18, 2015 at the Stanton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born Dec. 14, 1924 in New Britain, Ct., he was the son of Dwight and Lila (Lissette) Holden.
Fred attended Morris College, SC. as an accounting major and for 33 years he worked for Emhart Corporation as an Information Technology Manager.
His hobbies included golfing, attending horse races, and computer programming.
Along with his parents, Fred is predeceased by his brothers, Parker and Dwight, and his loving ex-wife and mother of his children, Gertrude Labbe Holden.
He is survived by his loving companion, Marie Stroker; two children, Jeff Holden, his girlfriend Susan O'Leary, of Cleverdale, NY and Deborah Holden Papallo of Perkasie, PA; his granddaughter, Jessica Papallo Philps, her husband Matthew, of Warrington, PA; and his great-grandchildren, Ethan and Gaven Philps, also of Warrington, PA.
A celebration of Fred's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Feb. 6, at the La Cupola Restaurant, 637 Bantam Rd., Bantam, Ct. RSVP at 518-955-8191.
Burial will be private to the family.
The family wishes to send a special thanks to the nurses and aides, who cared so dearly for Fred, at the Stanton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
