Obituary

DELMAR --- Gail Ellen Charlson, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Gail was born on August 19, 1952, in Syracuse. She was the devoted daughter of William and Joan (Chryst) Charlson.

Gail graduated from Shenendehowa High School and went on to earn her RN degree from Memorial School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse and for the NYS Department of Health until her retirement in 2010.

For all who had the pleasure of knowing Gail, they would recognize her compassion, empathy, dedication, and caring manner. She was an independent and adventurous person. Gail often explored venues of interest in and around the area where she lived. Her post-retirement cross-country road trip was an adventure she shared with many, as well as her travels to Alaska and Italy. Gail also enjoyed hiking and was keenly interested in Native American Culture. She was intelligent, and excelled as a student and in her career as an RN. She absorbed herself seeking new knowledge and sharing that knowledge with others. Gail was always true to herself and always tried to do the right thing. She was a beautiful soul who will be missed dearly.

In addition to her parents, Gail was predeceased by her brother, Brian.

She is survived by her siblings, Mark Charlson, Joyce (Charlson) Buschle, Peter (Sheila) Charlson, Stephen Charlson, John Charlson and Paul Charlson; also several nieces and nephews.

In honoring Gail's wishes, no services are being held. Her family will be holding a private gathering to honor her life at a later date.

The family would like to give thanks to Gail's long-time special friends, Fran, Jerri and Marcia, who provided Gail with love, compassion and support as she struggled with her health challenges.

In remembrance and in honor of Gail, her family requests passing along a random act of kindness.

Condolences may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
