Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- With great sadness, Gary P. Brunelle, 76, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Veteran's Day, Nov. 11, 2016.

Born in Ft. Edward on Nov. 30, 1939, he was the son of the late Donald and Helen (Carrier) Brunelle.

On June 27, 1981, Gary married Carol I. McCoy at their home they built together.

Gary served in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962.

He always enjoyed boating and camping, NASCAR, and concerts with his wife and good friends. He was a great photographer and his family's very own stand-up comedian. He held many memberships including Glens Falls B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 81, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Hudson Falls American Legion Post No. 574, 40/8, and Moose Lodge of Astor, Fla.

After many years, he retired from Scott Paper Co. in Ft. Edward in 1995.

In addition to his parents, Gary was predeceased by a sister, Donna, and his father- and mother-in-law, Mac "Myron" and Lila McCoy.

He will always remain in our hearts and loving memories. Left behind are his wife and best friend of 35 years, Carol Brunelle; one son, Gary P. (Michelle); three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Pat (Pete) Jackson; niece, Lindley (Michael) Ralph; a very special cousin, Linda (Jim) Faso; sisters-in-law, Arvella Thorpe (companion Jay Reynolds), and Joan (Chet) Shippee; brothers-in-law, Jim (Diane) McCoy and Patrick (Kathy) McCoy; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and his favorite pet, Yogi.

Calling hours will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804. The Fraternal Order of Eagles will perform a brief service at 4:15 p.m., and B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 81 will perform a Lodge of Sorrow at 5:30 p.m. Hudson Falls American Legion Post No. 574 will also be attending the visitation.

A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Patti Girard, pastor of Harrisena Community Church, officiating.

Interment, with military honors and bagpipes, will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Patriot Guard Riders of New York will also participate during the graveside service.

A gathering to celebrate Gary's life will follow at the Elks Lodge on Cronin Rd. in Queensbury.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who has shown their support during this most difficult time.
