When George was 17, he met the love of his life, Barbara Filsinger. They were wed soon after his return from serving his country. George became a printer, eventually opening the family business, Glens Falls Printing. He operated the business for more than 30 years before passing it to his son and partner, Robert.

He loved bicycling along the shore with Barbara, and playing tennis at the Van Der Meer Tennis Club in Hilton Head, where they spent many winters. He was very active in the community, serving at the Glens Falls Tennis and Swim Club, the YMCA, and the Lions Club.
Besides his parents, and his wife of 65 years, Barbara, George was predeceased by his siblings, Catherine, Fred, Agnese, Charles, and William, and sister, Margaret. He is also happily reunited with his beloved grandson, Billy.

He will be greatly missed by his eight grandchildren, Jason (Liz), Josh, and Leah Russell, Brendan Beyerbach, Kayla (Michael) Norman, Brian, Bryce, and Annalise Beyerbach; and three greatgrandchildren, Andrew, Eleanor and Amelia Russell.
