SOUTH GLENS FALLS – George Gilbert Caprood, born in Glens Falls on March 8, 1952 was called to be with God on April 27, 2016.

George was the son of the late Ronald and Dorothy (O'Brien) Caprood. He was also predeceased by his two brothers, Richard and Carl Caprood.

George leaves behind his longtime companion, Gloria King; two sisters, Patty Leahy and her husband, Frank, and Sally Soave her husband, Joe; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and several adopted cats.

George held several jobs but he most loved his work for the City of Glens Falls and his years spent landscaping.

George most enjoyed fishing, kayaking, camping and spending time outdoors. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with his many longtime friends. George was an incredible friend to many and would have done anything for those he loved. He was always up for a new adventure which made for happy and memorable times. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Calling hours will be held Monday, May 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette, St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A memorial service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will take place after the services at Glens Falls Cemetery, Bay St., Glens Falls. At George's request the ashes of his two greatest loves, his dogs, Kyoto and Tyoko, will be laid to rest by his side.

A celebration of his life will follow at the VFW Hall on Copper St. in Glens Falls.
