GANSEVOORT --- George L. Ingraham, 81, entered the kingdom of heaven March 9, 2016.
Born Aug. 22, 1934 at home on Park St. in Glens Falls where the hospital is now located, he was the son of the late Burnis and Mildred (Francis) Ingraham.
George married Dorothy M. Call on June 22, 1957 at First Baptist Church, South Glens Falls.
On Feb. 26, 1957 George was inducted into the United States Army and was honorably discharged Feb. 25, 1963.
George began his career working with his father, before becoming owner/operator of Ingraham's Heating, Plumbing, and Sheet Metal.
For many years, George served at Faith Baptist Church of Warrensburg in various positions.
Some of his enjoyments included camping, hiking, fishing, and wood-working. He loved to watch John Wayne movies, and especially enjoyed taking family outings and talking with everyone he met.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by two sisters, Yolanda "Landie" Gatchell and Rosetta Pearl Duell.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 plus years, Dorothy M. Ingraham; five children, LorrieJoy (Ray) Hamblin, Lawrence G. (Darcy) Ingraham, Scott (Correna) Ingraham, Daniel Ingraham, and Lynn Hopkins; seven grandchildren, William (Christina) Silver, Jennifer (Drew) McDonald, Joshua (Jen) Ingraham, Jacob (Tasha) Ingraham, Jeremy and Jesse Ingraham, Hannah Hopkins (boyfriend Billy Curl); seven great-grandchildren, Izelia, David, Elena, Evony, Jacob Jr., Benjamin, and Alexis; a sister, Alice Hermance; a brother, Joseph Gatchell Sr.; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will take place Monday, March 14, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lee Call, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial, with military honors, will follow the service at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
