GLENS FALLS | Gerald T. Wendell, 69, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Glens Falls Hospital with his family by his side.

Born September 18, 1946 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late John "Jack" E. and Lois F. (Harrington) Wendell.

While proudly serving as a sheet-metal worker and Airman in the U. S. Navy's Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Warfare Defense, Gerald received his G.E.D. and the National Defense Service Medal. Gerald enlisted on March 30, 1965 and was honorably discharged August 29, 1969.

Gerald was a self-employed salesman and Taxi Cab owner. He enjoyed spending his time at the Saratoga Race Track and OTB playing lottery and scratch offs.

Along with his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his grandparents, Foster (Florence) Harrington; grandmother, Louise "Nan" Wendell; brother, Richard Wendell Sr.; nephew, Richard Wendell Jr.; aunts and uncles, Gerald (Evelyn) Harrington Sr. and Glynn (Ruth) Harrington, and Carl Harrington.

Left to cherish his memory are three sons, Christopher Wendell and Matthew Wendell (Tanya Westerkamp), all of Lake George, Timothy Wendell of Buffalo, N.Y.; a daughter, Dina (Norman) Coons ; four grandchildren, Dylan Wendell, and Corey, Tyler, and Hayley Coons; sisters, Debbie (Jim) Braymer of Ft. Edward and Dottie (Ronald) LaRock of Glens Falls; brothers, John (Rosie) Wendell of Glens Falls and Michael (Kim) Wendell of Hudson Falls; an aunt, Evelyn Harrington of Glens Falls; the mother of his sons, Pamela LaFountaine of Conn.; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
