WARRENSBURG --- Gertrude J. Prosser, 95, of River St., Warrensburg, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at her home, with her family by her side.
Born on July 20, 1923, in Stony Creek, Gertrude was the daughter of Charles and Melissa (Madison) Crandall.
Gertrude was a stay-at-home mom who loved visiting and spending time with company over the years. She also enjoyed playing BINGO and listening to country music, loved family cookouts and was a known storyteller among family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Tennant, who passed in 1960; her second husband of 40 years, John Jay Prosser; her companion of 33 years, Meredith Clark; her daughter, Marsha Barrett; her sons, Robert J. Tennant and Dennis Prosser; two grandsons, J.J. and Billy Bills; her sister, Marge Crandall; her brothers, Ernest and Chet, and Gordon Crandall.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, John L. Tennant (Sue Hopkins), Patricia Bills (Robert Hayes), Brenda A. and Clifford Johnson Jr.), Clinton Prosser, Sue and Joe Neville, Shelly and Philip Goucher; grandchildren, Tooter (Christy), J.p. (Heather), Tammy (Willis), Tabby (Jason), Brian (Stephanie), Mickey (Bianca), Tosha (Andy), Chubby, Leona, Robin, Michelle, John, Stacy, Kim, Mary (Scott), Duke (Sandy), David (Candy), Scott (Judie), Steven, Cher, Shallon, Mikey, Carl (Taryn), Denny Jr., Angela, Christine, Melinda, Kayla (Nikko), Kyler, Jenny, Jerry; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Morgan Crandall; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will take place Thursday, January 24, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the spring at Warrensburg Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Bachman, nurse Mary, and High Peaks Hospice.
