Holcomb
Feb 10, 1942 — Aug 20, 2017
FORT ANN – Our beautiful, loving mom passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 20, 2017 with her family by her side.
Mom was born in Cold Brook, New York. She was the daughter of the late Hubert Farber and Marion (Pardee) Farber. Mom was also predeceased by our dad, her lifelong husband, Howard L Holcomb.
She was a loving mom, Nana, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Family meant everything to Mom, not to mention the love she had for all of her pets through the years. She will be so happy to be reunited with the love of her life and all of her fur-babies, Queenie, Skidder, Bear, Ki-Ki, and Benny. She leaves behind her fierce little Suzie, who never left Mom's side during these past years of illness.
Mom loved the Adirondack's. Camping trips with her whole family was the highlight of our summers. She loved the time she was able to spend on Indian Lake, her favorite place to be. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching and reading.
Survivors include her children, Dawn (Steve) Sawn of Kingsbury, Jeff (Julie) Holcomb of Queensbury, David Holcomb of Glens Falls, Marianne (Dick) Hoag of Indian Lake; sister's, Geraldine (Jeremiah) Flynn of Owego, Sandra (Thomas) Lewis of Moreau, Sharon (Berdet) Barrows of Cold Brook; grandchildren, Jason Sawn, Randy Sawn, Darren Holcomb, Travis (Joan) Havens, Zachary Hoag, Nate Wood and Emily Wood; also several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 26 at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
Please join us for a memorial service celebrating our mom's life following visitation at 2 p.m.
Burial is to follow at North Caldwell Cemetery in Lake George.
Our family would like to thank all of the nurses at the C.R. Wood Cancer Center for all of the care you gave to Mom. A very special thank you to Dr. Christopher Mason. The compassion and care you showed and gave our mom was more than we ever expected from her doctor. You are the best! We would also like to thank Dr. Tedesco and High Peaks Hospice.
