Obituary

Gloria Adele Taylor, 83, passed away Friday, June 19, 2026, after suffering a stroke.

Born September 8, 1942, in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Paul J. and Angelina (DeFelice) McLaughlin.

Gloria graduated from Girls High School in Boston, Massachusetts in 1960. She was employed by the NYS Department of Corrections and worked at Great Meadow and Washington Correctional Facility, retiring in 1995.

Gloria loved to shop and loved baking for her family and friends. She was famous for her chocolate chip cookies, brownies and apple pies. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing on Lake Ontario.

.Gloria was beautiful, generous, thoughtful, warm, loving, and above all else, kind. She thought of her friends as family and her family was her world. She loved with all her heart and was always quick with a compliment. Nothing gave her more joy than doing for others. She never forgot a birthday. She also loved cooking Thanksgiving dinner where she hosted family and many friends over the years.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her siblings, Anna Bukoff, Joseph Moccia, and Richard Moccia.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Carl Taylor; children, Carl (aka Tony) Taylor (Stephanie) and Kimberly Taylor (Daniel DeBonis); grandchildren, Anthony Taylor and Nicholas Taylor; brother, Robert (Moe) Moccia; many cherished nieces and nephews; and her beloved labradoodle Stanley Richard.
