Obituary

Queensbury - Grace (Foley) Kenney, 99, of Cascade, CT, passed away peacefully at her home on June 5, 2012, one day after her 99th birthday. Her loving family was by her side.
Born June 4, 1913 in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Patrick William and Ellen (Hurley) Foley. Grace attended Glens Falls Schools and graduated with the Class of 1932. Her family owned "Foley's Market" in Lake George and she became the bookkeeper for their business. Having lost her mother at the age of twelve, her loving aunt, Hannah Foley and uncles, Tom Foley and John J. Burns were major influences in her life.
On April 18, 1938 Edward Nelson Kenney and Grace were united in marriage and spent 71 wonderful years together until his death in December of 2009. They resided in Glens Falls, and Lake George (summers). They worked side by side during the summers at Foleys Market. They spent many winters in Siesta Key, Florida and later in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They enjoyed thirty plus years of retirement on Lake George (Cleverdale) and loved having family and friends visit for a few hours or a few weeks.
Survivors include two daughters, Ellen Kenney of Thurman, and Kristine LaRose (Bud) of Queensbury, and one son, Edward F. Kenney (Chris) of Queensbury; eleven grandchildren, Beth Newell of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Sarah Bjerke (Todd) of Rising Sun, MD, Tom Austin (Sarah) of Malta, Patrick LaRose of Queensbury, Sonya LaRose of Omaha, Nebraska, Stacey Wells (Todd) of Gansevoort, Joan Ankrom (Mick) of Wellesley, MA, Daniel E. Kenney of Glens Falls, Kristen Majkut (Robert) of Albany, Katherine Kenney of Queensbury, and Heather Hamell (Eric) of Queensbury; sixteen great grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
