Queensbury – Gwendolyn Maryanne "Bowermaster" May, 60, of Montcalm Apartments, Queensbury, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at her home with her loved ones by her side.
Born in Amityville, NY on August 27, 1954, she was the daughter of Benjamin Bowermaster and Marion "LeCara" Albert. Gwendolyn attended Levitown Memorial School until she started her family.
She worked at Timber Pines Assisted Living in Spring Hill, Florida, where she took care of many elderly patients, a job she loved and missed.
Gwendolyn enjoyed many hobbies like gardening, finding new recipes, 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles and a good crossword puzzle. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and precious grandchildren.
Gwendolyn was predeceased by her parents and her beloved brother, Kenneth Bowermaster.
Those left to cherish her memory along with her companion, Glenn Bobb, are her daughters, Catherine and Tina Bowermaster, and Nicole Bobb; her grandchildren, Jessenya, Alyssa, Nyvonnah, Brianna, Dimitri, Ashley, Carolina, Shyann, Sadrac, Julianna, Gauge, and Kane; great-grandchildren, Jocelynn, Brian, Camrin, Makenna; her sister, Jacqueline Farrell, two brothers, Benjamin Bowermaster and Richard (wife Tina) Bowermaster; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and Jeanie May, Gwendolyn's cat of many years who sat beside her every day, comforting her.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Sawyer and his nurse Amber, of West Mount Heath Facility, for in your care she never felt like just a patient; and to High Peaks Hospice staff, Stacy and Phil.
Tina would like to acknowledge her sister, Catherine, and all of her unconditional love, support, and care she gave to their mother during her illness. Catherine took care of her in such a way no one else could, it meant so much to their mom and the family.
