QUEENSBURY --- Harold Kingsley, age 67, passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 7, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital after a short illness.
Born Oct. 28, 1944 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Harold and Harriet (Beebe) Kingsley.
Harold lived most of his life in Pottersville, NY, where he owned Kingsley Auto Sales for many years. He always enjoyed owning and driving nice cars and used to take road trips around the country with a friend or two. He especially enjoyed trips to Las Vegas. Eating out at restaurants was part of his daily routine, with Wendy's in Queensbury being a favorite and also the Black Bear in Pottersville when he was living up there. He always met and talked with people he knew while eating out, which was an important part of his day.
Harold used to do a lot of cooking and had learned to make quite a few recipes from his collection of cookbooks. His other favorite pastimes were listening to country western music and watching old westerns on TV, especially Gunsmoke.
Harold enjoyed joking and having a good laugh with the people around him and will be remembered for his lively sense of humor by his friends in the Pottersville area, as well as his neighbors near the senior apartment where he moved a few years ago.
In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by an aunt and uncle, Evelyn and Charles Agard.
He is survived by his sister, Marie Stewart and her husband, Bob; three brothers, Robert Kingsley and his wife, Shirley, William Kingsley and his wife, Joanne, and David Kingsley and his friend, Sue; and many nieces, and nephews, and cousins.
There will be no calling hours or funeral.
Harold's friends are invited to join his family for a graveside service to take place Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. at Pottersville Cemetery on Route 9.
Harold's family would like to thank the nurses at Glens Falls Hospital ICU for their kindness and care, as well as the doctors from Hudson Headwaters Health Network who cared for him over the years, especially Dr. Way.
Condolences may be mailed to Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or e-mailed through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
