Obituary

SOUTH GLENS FALLS --- Hazel Mae Rockefeller, 74, of South Glens Falls, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness with cancer.
Born November 18, 1937 in Vanhornsville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Gladys (Franklin) Mead.
Hazel was a well-known businesswoman and restaurant owner of The Bear Cupboard and Thyme Café of Queensbury. Her passion was baking, well known for her pies, winning an award from Taste of The North Country.
For 10 years, Hazel enjoyed working with the mentally challenged at Nostalgia in Glens Falls, then for Neighbors, Inc., doing senior care giving. She also enjoyed Bible study and was a cherished member of the Adirondack Christian Fellowship in Wilton. Above all, she enjoyed giving to others, especially to her children who she dearly loved, and they will sorely miss her.
Besides her parents, her husband, Raymond Rockefeller one sister, Shirley, and five brothers, Cal, Joseph, Earl, John, and Franklin, have all predeceased her.
Survivors include her four daughters, Rodonna (Andrew) Leombruno, Colleen (Phillip) Vachula, Lori (Bill) Januska, and Kristina (Antonino) Martinez; three sons, Craig (Barbara) Rockefeller, Kevin (Jackie) Rockefeller, and Steven (Cindi) Rockefeller; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris and Nellie; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, September 1, at 5 p.m. at the Adirondack Christian Fellowship, 8 Mountain Ledge Drive, Wilton, with the Rev. Rick Cohen, officiating.
Everyone is invited to fellowship and food at the church following the memorial service.
