WARRENSBURG --- Helen L. Saddlemire, 88, was reunited with her husband, Bob, on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2023.
Born October 6, 1935 in Albany, she was the daughter of Albert and Rhoda (Glynn) Cole.
Mrs. Saddlemire was a resident of Warrensburg, graduating in 1953. She also resided in Corinth and South Glens Falls for many years.
She was a dedicated employee of Mohican Council Boy Scouts of America for 18 years, retiring in 1998.
She was a charter member of Victory Bible Baptist Church in Porter Corners, N.Y. serving many years as a Sunday School teacher and Junior Church leader. Most recently, she was a beloved member of One Life Community Church.
Helen made and sold cakes for 8 years. She and Bob had an antique shop for many years, and she enjoyed traveling, looking for "treasures" to sell.
In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband of 15 years, Elroy "Bob" Saddlemire, and his daughter, Cindy Bishop, as well as Helen's brother, Forest Cole.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children: a daughter, Michele (Donald) Saddlemire, and two sons, Michael (Dawn) Bush, and Matthew (Lori) Bush; 8 grandchildren; a sister, Milly Fredette; 11 stepchildren, Robert (Nancy) Saddlemire, Donald (Michele) Saddlemire, Ira (Teresa) Saddlemire, John (Lucy) Saddlemire, Michael Saddlemire, Linda Saddlemire, Darlene Rafferty, Tina (Jack) Baldwin, Sharon (Ken) Straight, Joanne Lilac and Cindy (Ernie) Bishop; many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and extended family.
Visitation will take place Saturday, December 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Friends are invited to join the family after Helen's services for a potluck gathering to be announced. Visitors are encouraged to bring a dish to share.
