Obituary

LAKE GEORGE - Helene I. Freeman, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025.  Helene was born in Glens Falls, New York on November 9, 1929, to Nikola Banitch and Ethel Dean.  She graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1947.  After living in 8 states and traveling in 12 countries, Helene and her husband, William B. Freeman, retired to the Village of Lake George in 1994, where they personally designed and built their cozy sanctuary on Flat Rock Road.

Music was a very important part of Helene's life, including singing classical music with symphony orchestras, and performing Christian soloist music throughout the world.  Helene also enjoyed homemaking and traveling with her beloved husband, Bill.  Together they delighted in the pleasure of backyard bird-watching and intimate dinners out at their favorite local restaurants. She was a devoted reader of scripture and remained active with the Word Of Life fellowship, Gideons International, Glens Falls Christian Women's Club, and the Republican Women's Club.

In addition to her parents, Helene is pre-deceased by her husband, William B. Freeman; her daughter, Noel B. Fisk; her son, Dean William Freeman; and her great grandson, Everett Silas Burroughs.  Helene leaves behind cherished family members to include her son, Thomas P. Fisk and his wife, D. Elizabeth Fisk of Springfield, VA; her grandchildren, Paul G. Fisk of Prague, Czech Republic, C. Joseph Fisk of Hammonton, NJ, Heidi R. Burroughs of Lexington, SC, and Heather A.
