GLENS FALLS – Howard Donald Alden, 82, of Glens Falls, NY died Friday, July 10, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Howard was the son of the late Roy and Isabel (Manley) Alden.

He took great interest in looking at old antique cars. He also loved going for rides in the country with his family. He loved his god Jehovah and the truth of the Bible. He was also was there for his family when they needed him.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by one niece and one nephew.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Alden of Glens Falls; three sisters, Vera Alden, Anna (Robert) Smith and Gladys Grassick; four sons, Eric (Robin), Daniel ( Pam), Mark and John; one daughter, Sandra (Joel) Carpenter; two step-children, Jerry Shattuck and Brenda D'Onofrio; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and one step-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and the mother of his children, Helen Montgomery.

A special thanks to Dr. Grubbs and her nurses, Chicky and Patti, in the cancer unit of Glens Falls Hospital for their excellent care.

Calling hours will take place on Friday, July 17, 2015 from 11 a.m. to noon at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

The memorial service will be at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at a time to be announced.
