Obituary

Huletts Landing, NY - Howard “Howie” Weeber, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on July 13, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.

Born on July 20, 1945 and raised in Park Ridge, NJ, raised his own family in Wayne, NJ then enjoyed his golden years in Palm Coast, FL. Howie graduated from Temple University and went on to work at Ford Motor Company until he ventured out to start his own company, Survivor Fire & Security. He lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, humor, and an unwavering commitment to those around him. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary Weeber for 57 wonderful years. Together, they built a life centered on family, friendship, adventure, and countless cherished memories.

Howie was the proud father of Scott (Trish), Kim (John), and Jason (Bonnie), and a loving grandfather to Gavin (Grace), Lance, Shaye, Hunter, Kylie, Jack, Caelan, Luke, and Jake. Howie was preceded in death by his brother, Richie. He is survived by his brother Brett, along with a large circle of family and friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, generosity, and adventurous spirit.

Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family. Whether cheering from the stands at a hockey game, teaching life lessons through example, or gathering everyone together for time at the lake, Howard treasured every moment shared with those he loved.

A man with a remarkable work ethic and determination, Howie believed in doing things the right way. He possessed an extraordinary ability to fix almost anything, and family and friends affectionately referred to him as "This Old Howie", a nod to This Old House. Whether he was repairing a boat, tackling a home project, or helping a neighbor solve a problem, he approached every task with patience, ingenuity, and skill.

He had a gift for making people feel welcome. His warmth, humor, and genuine interest in others made him the kind of person people naturally gravitated toward. He loved telling stories, sharing laughs, and bringing people together.

Huletts Landing in Lake George, NY held a special place in Howie's heart. It was there that he met Rosemary and spent some of his happiest days surrounded by family and lifelong friends. He loved being on the water and embraced the lake lifestyle with enthusiasm and energy. Over the years, he could often be found sailing his Hobie Cat across the lake, taking family and friends out on the boat, or flying across the water on a WaveRunner at speeds some might consider unsafe. He especially loved the traditions and friendships that made Huletts such a meaningful part of his life. One of those traditions was playing golf with his lifelong lake buddies at Skene Valley and at the local Hulett’s golf course, where at least a couple of his shots always seemed to be good for a laugh or two.

Howie was never one to sit still. Up until the age of 79, he was still riding snowmobiles, spending time on the lake, and enjoying the outdoors with the same energy and spirit that had defined him throughout his life. Whether boating, snowmobiling, playing bocce and shuffleboard, or simply enjoying cocktails and conversation at sunset, he believed life was meant to be lived to the fullest.

Howie leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, friendship, and devotion to family. He taught those around him the value of hard work, the importance of showing up for others, and the joy that comes from embracing life with enthusiasm. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever present in the stories, traditions, and memories shared by all who knew him.

A celebration of Howie's life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Mountain Grove Memorial Church.

A reception will follow at the Huletts Landing Pavilion beginning at 6:00 p.m. Food and drinks will be provided, and all who knew and loved him are warmly invited to join family and friends in celebrating a life well lived.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Huletts Landing Property Owners Community Association to build a bocce ball court to continue his legacy of joining great friends to play together. Donations can be made via Venmo to @Huletts-HLPOCA or check to:
