QUEENSBURY --- James Arnold Brewer, 73, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, January 31, 2026, with loved ones at his side.
Born July 13, 1952, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts he was the son of Arnold and Joan (Murray) Brewer.
In his youth, he moved with his family to Glens Falls, New York and resided in the area for the rest of his life.
James, mostly known as Jimmy, graduated from Glens Falls High School where he excelled in wrestling. Shortly after high school, Jimmy served in the Navy from 1972 to 1974. He later started a breakfast diner and worked as a bus driver for Glens Falls City School District, where he enjoyed driving the sports teams to their games.
Jimmy enjoyed golfing and watching old western shows. He was a devoted father, who was always there for his family.
Jimmy was predeceased by his father, Arnie Brewer, in 2006.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved children, Meghan Bennett (Chad) of South Glens Falls, Kaitlin Brewer of Glens Falls, and Matthew Brewer of Queensbury; very special grandchildren, Caden and Caylee Bennett; mother, Joan Isabell Brewer of Glens Falls; siblings, Kim Leary and Tami French of Glens Falls, Linda Mitchell, Timothy Brewer (Robin) and Thomas Brewer of Queensbury; former wife, Lorrinda Wrye of Queensbury; special aunt and uncle, Jean and Larry Gingras of Dalton, Massachusetts; Aunt Peter Rivers of Dalton, Massachusetts, and Aunt Rita Murray of Hinsdale, Massachusetts; and life-long best friend, Danny "Knighty" Knight of Hudson Falls, New York also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will take place Friday, February 6, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A graveside ceremony with military honors will follow at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Tedesco, Glens Falls Hospital, and High Peaks Hospice.
