GLENS FALLS --- James L. Brown Sr., 60, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 after a long illness.

Born February 23, 1957, in Landstuhl, Germany, he was the son of David L., and Rosemarie (Schwilk) Brown.

James graduated from Sauquoit High School, and Adirondack Community College.

Recently, James retired from the Irving Tissue Mill in Fort Edward.

He enjoyed spending his time fishing, hiking, and cross country skiing. Being in nature was his church. James was the co-founder of the "Dudely Club."

In addition to his mother, James was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Carole Brown.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Becky Brown; a daughter, Marta Brown of Adams, Massachusetts; a son, James Brown Jr. and his fiancée, Lindsay Borbola; his father, David L. Brown; his sister, Deborah Brown and her partner, Wendy Austin, from Lincoln, Nebraska; his brothers, Steven Brown of Sauquoit, New York, Kenneth Brown and his wife, Kathi, of Cassville, New York; also several aunts, uncles nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At the family's request, all services will be private.
