Obituary

James Arthur Keysor, 79, passed away on April 19, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.                                                                                 

Born on March 19, 1947, in Glens Falls, New York, Jim was raised in Gouverneur, New York where he graduated from High School. Shortly after graduation, Jim moved to Plattsburgh, New York for many years finally moving to South Glens Falls, New York in 1978 building the foundation for a life defined by dedication, service and kindness.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968, working in communication during the Vietnam War. Jim’s time in service was a great source of pride for him and his family.

Following his time in service, Jim built a long career working with office machines and in 1989 he established Upstate Office Supply and Service. Jim held other jobs working in the same field but ultimately returned to his true calling owning his own business until his retirement in 2022.

On December 31, 1999, Jim married Susan Gordon and together they built a life centered around trips to Maine, watching movies and the simple joys surrounded by family.

Jim loved watching birds, NASCAR, sharing coffee with the guys at the diner every day, sometimes twice a day and spending time with his family. Jim enjoyed telling stories of his life along with bible stories to the grandkids and great grandkids on a regular basis always adding a touch of humor in every story he told. These times will continue to hold meaning to all those he loved.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Minnie Pearl Keysor and James Judson Keysor; sisters, June Keysor and Helen Harrold.

Jim is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 26 years, Sue of Queensbury; children, James Russell Keysor (Colleen) of Michigan, Dawn Hayes-Patten (Rich Kwak) of South Glens Falls, Alexander Gordon (Rebecca) of Utah and Shannon of South Glens Fall; as well a several beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth Keysor, Amanda Keysor, Jordan Hayes, Taylor Hayes (Brandon Bourdeau) and Leland Patten. Jim also leaves behind cherished great-grandchildren; Arlo and Gabriel Gordon, Kason Mann, Maverick Hayes, Cianna, Tobias, Penelope and Gwendolyn Bourdeau; and his beloved dog, Mia, who was a constant companion and brought him great comfort.

Jim’s family finds peace and comfort in knowing that he is now at rest in God’s care, reunited with loved ones who went before him, and watching over those he held dear.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St. Queensbury, NY. A private burial will be held at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.

Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor and the love of his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives that he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
