QUEENSBURY--- James Stevenson, 76, of Mud Pond Rd., passed away at his home Thursday, October 10, 2013, after losing a valiant battle with Prostate Cancer.
Born Aug. 31, 1937, in Teaneck, NJ, he was the son of the late James and Julia (O'Donnell) Stevenson.
In the fall of 1979, James met Karen L. Andrews and they were married in 1982, in Bolton Landing.
He was a member of the Moose Club in NJ and a retired member of Carpenter's Local Union 251 of Edison, NJ. After his retirement he took a job to occupy his time in the seafood department of Hannaford on Broad St., where he made many more friends.
Golf became one of his passions later in life, as well as BBQ's. James was famous for his potato and macaroni salads.
He is lovingly remembered as "Grandpa" to his family.
In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by a sister, Carole Stevenson, and a brother, Edward Stevenson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Karen; three daughters, April (David)Cosey of Granville, Marcie (Kostas)Lahanas of NJ, and Gina Lee of Glens Falls; a sister, Judy Schroeder of Dover, NJ; two brothers, Donald of Middletown, NJ, and William of Tom's River, NJ; eight grandchildren, Christie, Brian, Michael, Nicole, Matthew, Joshua, Elijah, and Nicholas; three great-grandchildren, Julia, Cailynn, and Jason Jr.; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Friends may call upon the family Sunday, October 20 from 1 to 2 pm at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
A memorial service will follow at 2 pm at the funeral home with Deacon David Powers of St. Mary's Church officiating.
