Jason E.
Labutta
Jan 25, 1979 — Dec 19, 2021
SCHENECTADY--- Jason. E. LaButta, 42, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 19, 2021.
Born January 25, 1979, in Schenectady he was the son of John LaButta and Elizabeth (Lungreen) LaButta.
Jason graduated from Duanesburg High School and furthered his education at Schenectady Community College and attained straight A's, achieving President's List.
Jason was a man of many talents and enjoyed life. He was extremely fond of nature in all its wonder. He loved horticulture, landscaping, water features and anything to do with plants or flowers. Jay loved to take spontaneous rides through the countryside, especially if it was in a sports car. He was also an amateur coin collector and rock collector and especially fond of Herkimer Diamonds.
Jason used his multi-faceted skills in various occupations such as auto mechanic, fence construction, and restaurant service operations, most recently at Taco Bell in Wilton. Here he worked in every area of the business. He was an extremely conscientious hard worker. His co-worker and long-term friend Trish Show said, "Jason was so compassionate and caring that his face lit up the whole store and everyone looked forward to working with him." He was truly a jack of all trades!
Through a chance meeting at Wilton Mall, Jason met Tom Tramposch. They had a spontaneous connection almost immediately becoming best friends, and subsequently had a close father/son relationship which has lasted for years. As time went on, Jay became very fond of Tom's wife Ginny and their daughter Kristi.
Jason was especially fond of their cat, Tag, and absolutely adored their tiny chihuahua, Zoey, whom he quickly claimed as his own! Jay loved taking her for walks because she was so cute and petite that everyone stopped to pet her and talk to him! Zoey will miss him dearly!
Jason and his brother, Derek, were very close and co-conspirators in crazy antics, adventures, and escapades over the years! Probably the best way to describe their lives and relationship would be "never a dull moment!" He will be sorely missed!
In addition to his parents, Jason was predeceased by his grandparents, Dorothy and Rudy Lungreen.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved younger brother, Derek LaButta, and his nephew, Derek LaButta Jr.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 30, at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Family Life Center, 100 Sherman Ave., Glens Falls, NY 12801.
Jason will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Pine View Cemetery at 12:30.
Jason was very appreciative for the charitable work the nuns performed at St. Joseph's Place in Schenectady. Sisters Ann, Peggy and Linda showed love and compassion for all who walked through their doors. They were very special to him and he spoke of them often. I knew Jason would appreciate that any donations in his memory be sent to: St. Joseph's Place, 837 Albany Street, Schenectady, NY 12307.
Condolences may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
