Obituary

Moreau – This is the story of Jennifer Lynn (Baker) Dean, a wonderful, caring and gentle-hearted woman, who will be cherished by all that she touched. She was known as Tee-Tee by her nieces and nephews, Jenn-bug by her sisters and brothers, and Babydoll by her mom.

Jenn's story started on April 29, 1977, the youngest of 7 children to Charles and Patricia (West) Baker. She was born in Glens Falls, New York. The age difference between Jenn and the next child was 15 years, so she became everyone's baby girl and all around her influenced every step she took into adulthood. Because of this, Jenn was encircled with a continual flow of unconditional love in which developed into the selfless young woman she became.

The first 5 years of Jenn's life were rooted in a world of country life and wilderness in the town of Wevertown. This developed into a passion for all animals. We could not even kill a spider in the house without her crying to just catch it and release it outside. This passion also developed into a desire to heal all animals and talked about wanting to become a veterinarian when she grew up. This would have been possible if her health didn't become problematic as she advanced to adulthood. Before entering kindergarten, Jenn moved to the big city of Glens Falls with her mother, grandmother and two big sisters to experience city living. But, the little country nymph was front and center and they would always find her outside exploring the woods and excitedly returning with the treasures she found – pretty rocks, grasshoppers, crickets, and fireflies. She would ask children and adults alike to please come out and play.

Once Jenn entered school, the endless hours of exploring the great outdoors was exchanged for hours of playing with neighborhood children and developing close relationships with a few very special young ladies: Bridget and Amy. She had the best of both worlds, Bridget loved to explore with Jenn and spending hours watching television, movies and listening music with Amy. Then, her world flipped from girly giggles to the love bug and in entered the man of her life, her soul-mate – Jason Isaiah Dean. He brought the love and passion that Jenn so wanted and needed. They enjoyed the great outdoors and spent hours hiking, swimming and camping. On February 14, 2002 they became one in a civil service with a small group of family and friends. This love got them through one health crisis after another to the final health complication that ended Jenn's life on April 18, 2017. At the end though, there were few words said between Jenn and Jay, only his tender touch comforted Jenn through some horrific pain.

Jenn and Jason didn't have the opportunity to have children because of Jenn's health issues, but they had many fur-children to love and cherish. There were many in her lifetime, but there were a few that Jenn held close to her heart, Liebchen, Taffy and the last six years Jenn has been surrounded with the love of four tiny mini-pinschers, Loki, Lola, Fenris, and Bella. They returned the unconditional love that Jenn gave them and the final day of her life, one of the final questions she asked was "are the pups ok?" Over the years Jenn and Jay would also spend hours with their nieces and nephews – Karen, Bridget, Jason, Stacey, Adrian, Joshua, Bryan, Cassandra, Katelyn, Steven, Tremaine, Aiden, Heath, Carolyn, Ava Marie, Makaela, Bradley, Charlotte, And Mister Liam Jackson, sharing their love for the outdoors by taking them on camping trips, hiking numerous mountains, taking road trips to some of her favorite swimming holes, and just getting them all together to play games or watch movies.

Loved ones that paved the way and held her hand as she entered the afterlife free from pain and suffering are her father, Charles R. Baker; mother, Patricia West Baker; maternal grandmother, Emma Wildes West, and many relatives that Jenn didn't have the opportunity to meet.

Loved ones that will miss Jennifer until they meet again are her husband, Jason Isiah Dean; father-in-law, Earl Dean; mother-in-law, Linda Dean; siblings, Wendy Baker, Chuck (Regina) Baker, Penny Baker, Susan Fordrung and her partner Bruce Hyrny, Michael (Elizabeth) Dean, Amanda Dean and her partner Tia Garn; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. It's also important to acknowledge the people that have been instrumental in Jenn's care over the last 6 plus years: Dr. Joseph Mihindu, the Glens Falls Renal Nurses and staff, the Renal Annex nurses and staff with special recognition to Robin Neumann and the 3 West and Tower 2 nurse and staff.

In the words of Jenn's husband: "I'm in awe of the bravery and tenacity she has shown in dealing with this horrific illness. In love and respect of that, the best choice I can make is to allow her to leave this leg of her journey not in defeat, but in dignity, surrounded by the love and support of her friends and family."
