Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Jerry A. Sherlock, 66, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his home with his loved ones.

Born October 28, 1950 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Raymond Sherlock and Edith B. Collier.

Jerry attended Glens Falls High School and worked for many years for the Laborer's Local Union No. 186.

Some of his enjoyments included hunting and fishing. Jerry served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1972. After leaving the military, Jerry and his brother, Skip, hitchhiked to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Jerry then got a job as the only "Yankee" on the original crew on the Natchez Steamboat on the Mississippi River. He was fortunate enough to take part in the first steamboat race in 100 years against The Delta Queen.

In addition to his parents, Raymond Sherlock and Edith Collier, and grandparents, John and Kathrine Bowman, Jerry was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Eileen Sherlock, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Those left to cherish his memory are his longtime partner, Suzanna Ramsey; sister, Susan (Joseph) Eggleston; brothers, Steven (Skip) Sherlock, Warren Sherlock, Jeffrey (Elaine) Sherlock, and Mark (Jan) Sherlock; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and a special pet, Scaredy Cat.

At his request, there will be no formal services.

Interment will take place in the future.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Bob Frechette for going above and beyond what any friend could be expected to do, High Peaks Hospice, Fischer House affiliated with the VA of Albany, and the VA Hospital for their dedicated care.
